Is 304 Stainless Steel the same as Food-grade 304 Stainless Steel?
Update:2025-02-26

What is 304 stainless steel

304 stainless steel is a kind of stainless steel, chromium element content up to 19%, nickel element up to 9%, are called 304 stainless steel. It is resistant to high temperature 800℃ and has good processing performance and high toughness.

304 stainless steel as a more widely used, has a better corrosion resistance, temperature resistance, ultra-low temperature, compressive strength characteristics, stamping bending and other heat treatment performance is good, with 304 stainless steel made of pipe, has been in the residential community drinking water and community health drinking water pipeline has made universal use.

What is food-grade 304 stainless steel

Food-grade 304 stainless steel is the part of food machinery that comes in contact with food and must meet certain food safety requirements. Since the production process of food machinery uses a large number of acids and bases, and stainless steel contains chromium, unqualified stainless steel will dissolve various valences of chromium and produce toxic substances, so food-grade stainless steel will be required to limit the content of various alloy impurity elements such as lead and cadmium.
